Don't know by your name how long you've been living in the Slope, but Stavenhagen's has been closed since the early 90s. It was huge; two large storefronts wide. It was started there in the late 1800s, and when I was growing up there in the early 60s, Ernie (the owner)knew my family back down to my grandfather. And I'm talking more than 60 years ago. Talk about being a long time Sloper!
