Lonnie Harrington and Ruben Gonzalez play at Cafe Shane Tues

Neo Soul Circuit takes a musical interlude for the holidays presenting an intoxicating blend of funk, ballads, sambas and mambos performed by Native and African American guitarist Lonnie Harrington, featuring Argentinian born cantautor Ruben Gonzalez with special guest, of the Spirit Ensemble, Jimmy Cruiz on flute.

Mr. Harrington, a St. Albans-based, musician, folklorist and author has appeared with the Drum Circle Singers, a Native American drum group as well as the aforementioned Spirit Ensemble. He will be performing original songs, in both English and Spanish with long time friends and collaborators Ruben Gonzalez and Jimmy Cruiz.

In between sets Kaleidoscope host Karla Moore will interview Lonnie and friends and take questions from the audience for an upcoming BCAT Free Speech TV special. Audience members are encouraged to participate in the talkback session immediately following the first set. The artists independently produced CDs including "Foto de mi aldea" and a recent book of essays, "Both Sides of the Water" will be available for purchase.
