Police activity on Park Place at Nostrand last night
rosweed
Police helicopter with spotlight on the house, many marked and unmarked cars, and about a dozen cops in the house at 851 Park Place around 8 pm. Anybody know anything about this?

homeownerNo idea. I was out of the house. Heard from a neighbor down the block that there was a ton of activity focused at 849/851 but no one I've spoken to has any idea.
However, many of the regular hangers on the block have been scarce since Friday. I assumed the weather was keeping them in, but maybe its something else. -

homeownerI don't think so, we're a four blocks further east, and I hadn't heard that there have been any break-ins down here. Not to mention those two houses are both detached from the buildings on either side of them and I don't think either has a fire escape (at least one is a single family home). -

paraderestThere have been burglaries in that area that have very similiar m.o.'s to the those further west. Keep your windows locked, have deadbolts professionally installed, consider window gates on fire escape windows, never buzz somebody in without confirming identity, always make sure the front door of your building is closed... -
