    Subject: printer

Do you have the printer set up to print at draft quality? If you look at the printer properties there may be an option to print at high quality or draft quality or something of that nature.

Ooh, I had the same problem. Try kicking it as hard as you can with a steel-toed boot.

ugh, i tried kicking it. and now it's making funny noises.

no, it's not set up in draft quality. i think it might have something to do with my color management settings under Properties. it's set on automatic right now. i think i just need to do trial and error and see if any other ones work better. all the other colors print out fine though.

i may take a chain saw to it soon.

They must have a tech support #?

Are you using a black ink catridge, or three-color? Don't know if this would make a difference (other than being a more expensive way to make black).

there are 2 different black cartridges (8 cartridges total). glossy black and a matte black. unfortunately i can't select which black i want to use, the printer selects it automatically according to the paper...i use photo quality ink jet paper.

i also have the epson 3000 which is about 5 or 6 years old and it still prints out rich dark blacks.

i'm not sure which color management setting to use or could it be my driver? i don't know.

i'm at wits end though. this thing was muy caro! and it's supposed to be a wicked good printer!
