- Burn After Reading - how does such a good cast make such a crappy movie?

- Love in the Time of Cholera

Burn After Reading - Coen Brothers, you either love them or hate them. Loved Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, No Country For Old Men - hated Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Burn After Reading was somewhere in the lower middle. But I do appreciate those guys.

Never saw Love in the Time of Cholera but will remove from Netflix queue. Thanks.

Coen Brothers - very hit or miss for me. Liked "No Country for Old Men", hated Raising Arizona.

I couldn't even get thru 30 minutes of "Love in the Time...."

    Fair enough.

But new topic: I really wanted to like I'm Not There (the Bob Dylan thing) but thought it was really boring......

And don't even get me started on Mamma Mia. I never liked ABBA to begin with. And a movie starring Meryl Streep based on a broadway show based on a band I hated? No thanks.

I wouldn't even try to watch that. I hate musicals, especially where people break out singing for no reason. I'm only marginally more tolerant of musicals where there is a reason for singing (e.g. "Cabaret")

Hell Ride starring Dennis Hopper. I love Dennis Hopper. This is fourth rate Tarantino. Pass on it. Someone please give him a decent role. Please.

This is way up on my list of 'trash my SO made me sit through'. Eragon is up there too, together with anything Narniish. I think the heroic fantasy genre was better in the 80s (Dark Crystal, Krull, Princess Bride) or maybe I was less jaded.

Can anyone tell me what they see in No Country For old Men??? I thought it was UNBEARABLE.

Don't rent The Women- total snooze.

Do rent The Assassination of Jesse James- really good.

I was a big fan of the HBO series, but the sex & the city movie was UNbelievably bad. Like, root-canal bad.

Persepolis, on the other hand, was excellent, imo.

much as I love Cate Blanchett, I have no interest in sitting through 3 hours of this. It's one of those "I can wait until it comes out on DVD" movies for me

I agree. Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons was long and terrible. Add Gran Torino and Transporter 3 to the mix.

Yeah, that was horrible. People, do NOT make movies based on video games. Don't you get it?

Wanted. The only good thing about it was Angelina Jolie and maybe the Dodge Viper. Otherwise it felt like a bad Fight Club/Batman Begins mashup.
