    It seems like it might as well be a joke. After posting here it occurred to me to google, and apparently flatbush gardens is a hot mess. Racism abounds and apparently management could care less about the tenants once the lease is signed.

    The funny thing about the awful television commercial they've been airing is that it's more of a NYC skyline/landmark montage than an accurate, visual record of the neighborhood the buildings are in.

    I used to live in Flatbush Gardens back when it was known as Vanderveer Estates in the late 80s, and from what I've seen recently, not much has changed--except for the huge, black gates that have been added that make the place look like a prison. I've never had any problems over there, but will agree with any that say that there can be some shady looking characters about. It's close to The Junction, and the lovely Brooklyn College, which are big plus (as well as the various flavors of the Carribbean that you can find in the area).

    It's not that good of an area. a lot of shady activity. that is all I will say. : (
