Hi All,

I bought a laptop about 6 months ago, and have decided
that I don't need my desktop anymore. Would rather reclaim
the space it's taking up in my apartment right now.

Any suggestions for a local charity/non-profit to donate it to?
I checked on nyc.gov, and they recommended some charity
up in the Bronx. I'd really rather not have to haul it all the way
up there to drop it off ... Something in Brooklyn would be ideal.
I live in Park Slope.

The computer is in good working shape, about 3 years old.

I've used this one on the past:

They're usually teachers and they're thankful to get anything. I had four monitors and a crapload of keyboards, all went.

Whatever you do make sure the hard drive is properly cleansed. When I gave my desktop to a friend recently, I reformatted the hard drive four times before giving it to him. If you're giving it to a school or other charity this is particularly important. School kids seem to know how to retrieve everything you've ever deleted.

    One step ahead of you.

I already ran "WipeDrive" on it (secure erase software).

If you are still looking for a worthy donation, this young lady sounds like she could use the computer...
