I saw there was a new awning on a storefront on Washington above Bergen today. Looks to be some sort of tea shop or cafe. Anybody have any insider information?

Where exactly? I live on Wahsington and Bergen, and have seen nothing out of the ordinary. I'll report tommorrow if you can be more specific.

    Subject: it's called cuppa tea

it has a green awning, on washington closer to grand/classon. it's on the same side of the street as gen and the liquor store.

awning's been up since at least 5/15, since i took a pic of it that day.

Undoubtedly planning to cash in on the condo yuppies. On the other side of the street, a new beer distributor opened. Some good stuff (Stone, Brooklyn) and prices ain't too shabby.

A new beer distributer is certainly a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I was worried I was going to have to start going to Court St. to stock up- not easy with no car!

I haven't seen it open once yet, not even being worked on, if it's finished or not, no-one knows.

I don't know about this particular teashop (at Washington and Dean), but according to the guys who are working on the storefront at the corner of St. Mark's and Washington (across the street from Gen), its "probably going to be some sort of coffee shop." Which sounds wonderful to me, as I live right across the street.

Are we talking a sit-down place with cakes, scones and cream, or just a shop?
