block association/putnam

Before his thread was rudely trolled by Cafeaulait/ashley, Kevin on Putnam was discussing the concept of a block association for the area around Putnam/Irving Place. I for one would also like to get involved with something like this. Kevin, Putnam Denizen, should we get together to discuss? As Putnam Denizen knows I am on Irving Place. Let me know if you guys and anyone else reading this thinks this is a good idea.

Right on Kevin. Before I pm you I should say that I have no experience with organizing this kind of thing (disclaimer) but I do think that a little bit of organizing could go a long way towards making the neighborhood more attractive and safer.

I'm on Irving Place too and I'd be interested. I can also think of a couple people in my building who'd also want to participate.

That's great Irving. We will try to get a meeting happening and then we will post info when we know. Could take a bit of time to organize but keep checking the board for info. Thanks.

Putnam, couldn't agree more but before we worry about such niceties I think it would be good to get together and develop a strategy for reaching out to everyone and not just blog readers. We could have a meeting amongst ourselves (you, me, Kevin and the folks from the Irving Place building above) and then reach out to the non blog reading world. Thoughts?
