It's 3:00 pm and I can hear a marching band faintly in the distance. What's up? Some holiday I don't know about? High school band practice?

    At noon I got off the subway at Grand Army Plaza, I heard it to.

    During the warmer months I can usually hear a marching band practicing in Prospect Park, usually around the lower transverse, when I'm running in the evening. Based on the inauguration, I wouldn't think they'd practice outside in the cold weather:D

    I've run by them too in the summer though. There usually up there in total darkness at the top of the transverse.

    Saw them three times this past week -- twice around three and once at noon. Appear to be high school kids, and they walked to GAP from the south part of Flatbush. Just practicing under the arch -- even had a few spectators yesterday, but that didn't seem to be the point. Maybe they're snowed-off their usual practice spot?
