What's going on with Newkirk Plaza?

Subject: What's going on with Newkirk Plaza?

They've erected long chainlink fences, running the length of the plaza. Anyone know what they're doing?

All the stations from Newkirk Ave to Neck Road on the Q line are being rehabilitated.. according to an MTA employee. Don't know the details but it's a total rehab of the station that is supposed to last several years.

Thats great news! I hope they're able to take care of the disintegrating columns on the Manhattan bound platform..those things make me nervous!
