I've got a lot more free time on my hands lately (thanks recession!) and my current project is apartment decorating. I ran into a old furniture shop/junk store on Bedford and I was wondering if there's more of those around to browse for some finds.

There's Trailer Park on Sterling Place near 6th Ave. I haven't been in but it's there.

Trailer Park is expensive -- and has moved on to selling new stuff made of old wood.

The Victorian on Tompkins is a great antique/used furniture place if you don't mind getting a bit dirty, and if you can see past some of the clutter. I found fantastic bookcases there, and all they needed was thorough cleaning. The owner (Dalton Conley is his name I think) is SUPER nice too.

The Fine Gallery Furniture store at Bedford and Putnam has beautiful and bad, fabulous and flaky, antique and awful. Lots of wooden furniture stock here as well as a place in Slope I have never seen. The prices are all good to excellent.

I love these guys. Half my house is outta this place.

    And they deliver in BS/CH!

Just ignore the crap on the curb and go in to see the good stuff.
