rice cakes and ramen broth - need recipes

hi all, I've been poking around everywhere trying to find a recipe for extremely spicy chinese or korean ramen broth. I have a nasty cold and killed my last package of ramen battling it.

also, I picked up some silken tofu (soon du bu - sp?), some rice cakes and some mandoo at a korean market in quito I found. I can't decide if I should make some variation on the traditional korean soup that's eaten on new year's or if I should make two different things. or even three.

I have been informed I can purchase no more proteins -- we have like 2 chickens, a freezer full random beef and pork, and a rack of lamb. so, in an effort to assist with the freezer/fridge cleanout, I need some ideas.

oh, and I've never cooked with rice cakes before -- do you have to boil them before, say, stir frying them?

oh right, the korean market won't get anymore ramen in until next month. argh.

ooh, that might help. it's nice and spicy and if I just cut the seafood, or put in bonito flakes, and add the rice cakes, it should be nice. maybe our cabbage will be ready tomorrow. oh! and I have a pile of radishes. I'm ready to hack korean food. now ... the trick is to get the 'puter to get internets reception in the kitchen.
