A certain subway conductor on the F in the mornings

There is one F-train subway conductor who usually seems to work in the mornings and who I have started to find very funny recently.

I can't tell if it's a man or a woman. The person talks A LOT and says things like "A nice third day of the week to you...Wednesday" and gives very, very detailed directions at each stop and just talks and talks and talks.

Does anyone else know who I mean, and has anyone ever seen them?

My friend made a Twitter post about this conductor today actually haha. She described it as a "Six Flags vibe than typical MTA. F Train win!"

It's usually on the early side, like between 7 and 7:30.
Once you hear it, you will know exactly who I mean!

    That's great!

I wish more conductors would be more friendly and verbal. Half the time stops are not even announced.

There used to be a fella like that on the D train. He was funny and very dry. There was also a more famous conductor on the 1, but I think he passed.

When I used to get on the 4/5 at Franklin, maybe 7:30ish, I loved to have the chatty conductor who sounded EXACTLY like James Earl Jones. Exactly like him and he said lots of stuff like "have a great Wednesday, folks" and announced the stops even though the train had the boards and auto announcements. He always made my day a little better.

There's a guy on the F in evenings sometimes who speaks with a voice that drags out words, but doesn't make extra comments. He says things like, "Next stop fifteenth streeeeeeeeet" and it makes me laugh.

There's also a guy on the Q in the morning who gives very detailed directions at stops and when you get to Atlantic Ave he says "...and connection to the Loooooooooooong Island Rail Road." Every...day....his persistence is the best part in my opinion.

i've been to a few trains with funny conductors, not a lot, but i wish there are more conductors like that.

another recent funny one when i was in SF bart subway, i was on the train underground crossing the bay to oakland, the conductor was yakking throughout the whole ride as if he was a tour guide, at one point saying the train was at the lowest point now out of the whole subway network at whatever feet underground, then a few mins later he warned us that we were ascending, and then when we emerged above ground, he then said "this is what i call world class roller coaster".

    it was hilarious.

i know exactly who you are talking about, but i'm pretty certain the conductor is a woman. she'll talk about the weather sometimes, gives extra directions over the loudspeaker to people getting off at particular stops, always tells people to be safe. i like her a lot.

A few years ago on the Q train, the same guy used to say, every single morning in a Luther Vandross voice right before Atlantic Avenue, "Goooooooood Morning everybody... and welcome aboard.. the Q (pronounced kyuuuuuu) train."

I always wondered if it was a recording or not.

    Yes, that's the guy!!

It's the same exact announcement every morning.. it's got to be a recording, because he says it exactly the same way every time.

yeah, i've heard that guy on the weekends and he's cool, too. but the OP is talking about the 7ish AM weekday conductor. i've heard both voices, and they are def. not the same person.
