How much did you pay to bustlewedding dress?

I need to alter my wedding dress and I went one place in Manhattan, they quoted $100 to "bustle" (hook up the back for reception with 3 pt--3 bottons?). My dress is really simple and the train is not even that long---for 3 bottons, I thought that outragiously expensive! Did anybody do bustle in Brooklyn/how much did you pay? Any recommendation?

honestly, I don't think that price is too far off the mark...maybe you could find someone here who would do it for $60 or so, but I don't think I would trust my wedding dress to someone who wasn't very experienced in wedding garments. Does it have multiple layers? Beading? Lace? All those things make the project more complicated. Plus, you should be concerned that it drapes correctly, as your dress will remain bustled most of the night.

Altering for my $300 dress 2 years ago cost $800, and that was in Gravesend. Granted, the dress needed a ton of work.
