Bell House is the new venue from the Union Hall/Floyds people, in Gowanus 7th st 2/3 Ave.
"In the shadow of the famous and brooding Kentile Floors sign..."

Noticed their Mardi Gras flyer on the street...

Band: SugarTone Brass Band
Where: The Bell House
When: Tuesday, Feb 24 @ 8:30PM

Brooklynites don't need to head down to N'awlins this year, they have a Fat Tuesday party right in their backyard. Celebrate Mardi Gras with Jambalaya from Great Jones Cafe, Hurricanes, and beads galore!

i have been there quite a few times. the front section is a nice lounge-y area with nice couches and a big open space. the music venue is beautiful, with separate bar, large stage, barn style high ceiling and capacity for about 3-400. the staff is friendly and they seem to have music most nights.

as this is close to my apt i go there quite often. it is not usually as crowded as union hall. their beer selection is pretty good too.

Love it. I've been to Secret Science Club and a band or two there--excellent venue for both and I'm so happy to have this in the neighborhood. I think the standing capacity for the stage room is 400 or 450, which means they're able to get in a few of the bands that might not fit/come to other spots nearby (like Southpaw and Union Hall).

Plus, they serve delicious Dub pies.

It's run by the folks that opened Union Hall. If I weren't so lazy and such a baby about going out in the winter, I'd go to lots more stuff there.

We saw Soulive there last week and it was great. We hadn't been there before, but were impressed with the space overall - large bar near the stage, nice bar/hang area outside, and very well done in general. It looks like a really nice place to go for a drink, even if there's no music.

I saw The Submarines there last week...hadn't been before, but had been meaning to go since I'd heard such good things. I was wowed by the space--I thought it was great. The bartenders were really nice, even when it was obvious we should have left a couple of hours (or drinks) before...the bouncer who retrieved my coat from the coat check had a good time laughing at me. All good fun...I'm looking forward to going back!

An amazing space- was there for NYE. A top-quality venue that is stumbling distance home - gotta love that!

Lies. Nobody has EVER been to the Bell Houze. Ever. Period.

Beyond that their opinion are imaginary at best.

I just went there for the first time a couple of weeks and thought it was a really great space. Didn't have much of a chance to check out the front room, was there mainly for a show. Another great things is it seems like the car service guys hang around to make it easy to get back to civilization.

Nice joint. But for me, it's too close to warrant getting a cab/car service, yet far enough to not want to walk through a barren no man's land late at night--especially if I've had a few drinks--to go there regularly.
