So, aside from calling 1-800-FLOWERS, where can a man (or woman) get some flowers for his awesome lady (or man) in this nabe? I need the 411.

:D

Awesome, thanks. I had opted to get flowers at the grocery on Flatbush and learned the hard way. Never again!

I've had OK luck with Natural Land flowers (but only when I'm doing the arranging myself). I don't have any experience w/ Zuzu's but their windows look lovely.

It's a nice, thoughtful question for you to be asking!

you can do the flowers at natural land if, as bk chickie pointed out, you arrange them yourself. but you have to be good at that.

plus, fonda (the woman who owns it) has been in the nabe forever (her old store was one of the ones that burned down in that huge fire on 7th ave @6 years ago, and her dog was inside at the time).

what many people don't know is that after the fire she was very wary of opening a new store and didn't think she could afford to, and a huge group of people in the community held a fundraiser to help her new shop.

What about the Forest Floor? Any experience?

None here. When you do buy the bouquet, please make sure to post here about your experience. And maybe a picture?

I have had a good experience with Ophalia on Atlantic, but that's Brooklyn Heights.

Oh, I also wanted to add, puh-leese don't call 1-800-Flowers. Their arrangements are so cheesy. I would rather have someone go the bodega route (hey, you had to stop, select, and buy--that takes thought) than do them.

i think 1800flowers takes more thought than the cheapo bodega flowers.

spend $25 on various bodega flowers, bring them to me. i will arranged them like the ones at zuzus for a small fee. :D/

will do. I am not buying flowers for a while though. I bought for v-day and noticed that the quality of flower was not so great.

I went to Forest Floor today and looked in the fridge. All the flowers were old and wilted. I have never seen that before.

I think there is another place on Vandy near St. Mark's. will look there too.

I think you mean Opalia and it's more like Boerum Hill, but I've had a good experience there too. The flowers were very well received. But I guess they usually are, huh?
