Gross, what are these things??

My boyfriend and I just returned home from a trip and began a cleaning spree. After sweeping the apartment, he showed me a dust pan filled with these disgusting little things that look like they could be pests of some sort.

Do you know what these are?--They are about the size of a sesame seed, blackish brown, with two white dots on them. They are super hard and all identical. They are showing up in every room and are generally next to the walls and in the corners of the room.

We have had pest control several times in the last few months, so chances are what ever these things are they are dead, but regardless I am curious. After looking online I'm fairly positive they are not bedbugs, roaches or termites...thoughts?

Thanks,
Kalin

you may have moths in your food, these being their eggs. Do you ever see tiny moths in the kitchen?

do you have a garden or some trees right outside your windows? and are they really slow? I don't know the name of them, but if they are what we had at our old place then the are pretty harmless, just very annoying.

I think they are beetles or something. My old super said that they typically are near gardens and in trees, so they might be coming in from outside. You should check to make sure there aren't any holes in your window screens.

Google "varied carpet beetles" look at the pictures and see if that is what you are finding.
Also, check any sunny window sills. If you find a bunch of dead ones, that probably confirms what they are.
