I need contacts - stat

I'm headed to Jay Peak at the end of March and need to get new contacts asap. I usually wear glasses but for winter sports I rock the goggles and need contacts. Where is a good spot to get my eyes checked (I have astigmatism) and has a pretty quick turnaround?

Thanks.

Thanks very much, I actually walked by this place today and thought to myself about how everything is such a shot in the dark when you're new to a city. I appreciate the help.

There's another thread further down on somebody needing glasses and you can see more people recommend UO (as well as some other places). I've been going there for years. Dr. Adam will give you an exam and they will order your contact - I have a bad astigmatism in one eye, and my lenses only take a few days to arrive.

Just two weeks ago, I went to the optical place on Union and 7th Ave. Walked right in, got a full contact exam (I have astigmatism, too). Dr. Hu was wonderful. Ordered my contacts on Saturday; picked them up on Monday.

I was under similar time constraints, so this was all pure luck. But they've gained a new customer -- I'll go back!

I'd also suggest giving Costco a shot. I know they are 40%-50% cheaper for glasses. Just give 'em a call and ask how much

    Subject: Eye place

My fiance and I really love Park Slope Eye.

My favorite place is Park West Vision in Windsor Terrace...they've been there forever, and will probably still be there when lots of these new places are long gone.

Thanks again to all, I'll be headed to the slope to get my eyes checked on sat. Does anyone know which (if any) of these places offers exams on weekends?

Althea -- the place on Union and 7th Ave. (sorry, I can't remember the name) definitely does exams on weekends -- I went on a Saturday.
