theres just not enough rabid stray pit bulls to keep nature in balance.

Saw this possum yesterday as well...my dog went apeshit when we were walking by that same red car. It was gone by afternoon. Last fall I encountered a raccoon in the exact same spot. Don't know why they end up on 8th/Union.

i've been seeing racoons and possums in prospect park for over 20 years. but they both usually only come out at night

theres also rumors that seals are now living on swinburne island (one of those two tiny islands inbetween brooklyn and staten island)

Near Marine Park and Sheepshead Bay, we see them at times. Local urban legend has it that some agency released them to help control rats and mice. Don't know if possums eat those things. But I do know that the first thing people do is to blame the government.
