Does anyone know of any good dance studios that have African Dance. It's actually for a student of mine (high school). She has experience and lives in the neighborhood. Any information would be really helpful. Thanks!

    LeffertsGirl, that would be Embora.

Also they have classes at the YMCA on Bedford, and also Move with Grace dance studio on Myrtle and Washington.

Ismael Kouyate, formerly of Guinea's national ballets (www.ismaelkouyate.com) teaches dance in downtown Brooklyn at Mark Morris Studios (near BAM. Accessible via Atlantic, Fulton or Lafayette train stations). Wednesdays nights 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. Mixed level class w/relaxed vibe (compared to hardercore Manhattan classes, that is); talented, personable teacher; great drumming; top notch facility; good security. Ring buzzer at street level and say, "I'm here for African dance class" to be let in. For more info, links, etc., go to www.westafricandance.com
