looking for loft/space/apt to create a place for artists

Love this neighborhood and need to move out of boyfriend's place and get my own, for both living and event-planning purposes. No thumpy techno, but artist gatherings, acoustic music, yoga classes, etc. I think this area could use something like this.

Looking for a loft-type space in Prospect Heights (don't care what, as long as it feels open). Doesn't have to be fancy or new--in fact, raw is probably better.

At least 1,000 sq ft--closer to 2,000 is better, ideally at around $1/ft. Roof access/deck/backyard all a plus (gotta do something with those smokers). The more unusual, the better. Can rebuild as needed--got handy-man friends.

Failing that, I just need a place to live...but would much rather create a community space.

$1/square foot was the going price for the unpopulated dumbo of the 90's..
