I'm looking to get a bridesmaid dress altered. Would love to do it in the Park Slope area, but Manhattan is fine too. Any recommendations?

Agnes is the best, not sure of her shop's name but it's on PPW, a few blocks south of the park. You can take a bus from GAP down her way. She moved shops (used to be next to DUB pies), and the new address is something like 270. When going south on PPW, there's a laundry mat or something similar with a nice bench out front and Agnes is a few shops down, on the west side of the street or your right if heading south.

She did a bridesmaids dress for me, and did a great job. It needed a lot of alterations, practically remaking the dress and cost about $80. I've also had her hem some pants and tops, and remove pockets from some things and the prices were fine (I think I've averaged $8 per item) and the work she did was perfect (matching thread colors and types of stitching) and quick.

Several others have recommended her on the boards.

    Bridge Cleaners and Garment Care.

    Ask for Richard

They have been around for 25 years and have the most amazing tailors.

They also have King Garment care in the city. They run a totally Green operation and I have enjoyed their cleaning services as well as their tailoring services for years.

    Tell them Rachel Sent ya!

I suggest Mr. Taylor, the tailor.
