Subject: This morning's Dekalb drama

Anyone know what was happening on Dekalb this morning? The street was closed to cars from Clinton to Clermont starting at about 8:30 am. I saw a wrecked car, but that's about it. There were police lines running around the car (in front of Tillie's) and some guy got arrested well after the incident, yelling as he was being put into the car, "I DIDN'T CROSS ANY POLICE LINES!"

I think a car ran a red light, crashed into another car and hit a guy crossing the street.
The woman and her 2 kids in the car which was hit seemed fine, but the guy crossing the strret looked in pretty bad shape (Unconcious, face down bleeding, weak pulse - not sure what happened to him though)

i've told Letita James' office repeatedly that Dekalb is used as a raceway and with the new "parking scheme" matters were going to get worse. i warned her someone would be hurt/killed someday. hope the pedestrian is OK.

Agree. People drive way too fast on that road. Would be nice if the cops enforced speeding.

It would also be nice if they actually enforced the parking restrictions in the right-hand lanes in the morning.

And I mean, if we're gonna go crazy, the cops could take that dumpster of theirs out of the bike lane.
