wine wifi?

as much as i was frustrated with/disappointed in Half, i am totally missing it as my local place to get some work done while drinking and with different distractions than the ones in my apartment.

any ideas for a similar vibe? ideally, a place with wireless, good non-intrusive but serious music (one of my favorite things about half), and maybe some cheese?

i know this is a lot to ask for and i am willing to settle for less :-).

i see prospect heights cafe is now serving wine and often observe people working in there, but i've heard mixed reviews about the rest of it. i also believe chocolate monkey has wifi, but have never seen anyone using it, except the owner. i will absolutely not go to tea lounge.

all suggestions are welcome, even those without wifi!!

sepia has wine and wifi, but no cheese, and a different vibe. some would say better vibe, but indeed different.

How about Gamin? They have wifi (although I have had trouble accessing it in the past), and definitely have wine and cheese and a pleasant atmosphere. They also have outdoor space for when the weather is nicer.

Although I've been very dissatisfied with Heights Coffee lately, they do have both wifi and wine (but no atmosphere).

I like Le Gamin. The 20 buck fixed menu is a life saver. And they deliver.

    thanks for the tips, dh'ers!

i am more than willing to forego the cheese for a decent martini at sepia and willing to sacrifice a reliable wifi hookup at le gamin, for the other factors mentioned. i have my priorities, after all, which probably means sepia, first :-)

    thanks, again!

soda actually has a varied wine list and food. they also have wifi. during the day the place is DEAD (on weekdays) so you should be able to get the work done. also, during the day the music being played is the bartender's selection using ipod hookups or CDs, so it's not the same old stuff from the jukebox.

I've been having occasional meetings with freelance clients at Sepia, and I know other people who have been using it as an extended office - not just laptop cowboy while drinking, but for honest meetings and such.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a whiteboard on an easel there someday.

Oh, and seconded on Le Gamin kicking ass, and thirded on Soda being dead on weekdays.
