    I second Friedland...he's so manic it's a blast.

Agree: Dr. Capetola (718-768-1498) is the best. Very thorough exam, and great analytical skills.

I second (err, third) Dr. Capetella. He's incredibly kind, patient, and thorough, and has no problem explaining *everything* you want to know (often without even having to ask!).

Also, twice he gave me a discount after finding out I work freelance and have no insurance. Who knows how much more it would have cost normally (I know they make more money when not doing it through insurance), but I assume he was being honest with that discount because he seemed genuinely sympathetic, saying he knows what it's like.

I have not been to Park West to see the Dr but I did go to see about getting my prescription filled. They are on my insurance plan and my regular optician is in the city. What a rip off. Even though they are in my plan everything was extra and surcharged, even though I had the price sheet from my insurance plan he got it up to well over $200. I went back to my regular guy in the East Village and got my RX filled for $140. But like I said that was the optician, not the optometrist.
