Subject: Looking for a 24 hour Diner that's NOT Los Petrillos

Hiya,

I usually like to go out dancing until the wee hours of the morning (Fri/Sat night). I am looking for a good breakfast place to go at 4 or 5 am in the morning. I like waffles, pancakes etc ( typical American breakfast fare).

Aside from Los Petrillos (which does pretty good Mexican fare but DISMAL breakfasts), is there a 24 hour diner in Sunset Park?

I don't really want to walk around at 3 am searching for one. I know there are two 24-hour diners on 9th street in Park Slope, but I want to be a little closer to home. Preferably between 4th and 5th avenues 25th and 60th street.

*EDIT*
I don't mean THE SUNSET PARK DINER AND DONUTS. I have eaten there before, and saw some live vermin scurrying around. This was 1 year ago.

There is that place on 65th right off the highway (by the ball fields) maybe 7th Ave. There is also Millers on New Utrecht and 60th (?) Street. While not in your the neighborhood you asked there is also the one on Cadman Plaza East off of the Brooklyn Bridge.

There's always Sunset Park Diner & Donuts on 5th and 39th. Despite others' poor experiences, I've always been happy there. Service has been quick and friendly, and I have liked the donuts, egg and cheese sandwiches, and even the coffee.

    Kikintina,

I too used to eat there. I stopped after I saw a small mouse, scurry past one of the back tables. To me, their food was poor quality but tolerable. What sunk them for me was the MOUSE I saw on their premises. If I don't have mice I don't expect to eat in a place that has mice. I don't know if they cleaned up their act, but I am not into finding out.

    Thanks,
