    I am!

    Let's hope it doesn't rain.

I've never done this classic NYC ride before... any suggestions on what time to arrive? The website suggests 6.30am, and the ride begins at 8-9am - that's a long time to hang about!! I know that thousands of people do it, so perhaps its best to arrive late and be one of the last to leave??

    Whacha think?

Subject: i might be too late....

    But,
I have done the 5BBT before. Here's a few tips: Get there early or get there late. If you go early you stay at the head of the pack and miss quite a few of the bottle necks. If you go later you avoid the "waiting around for hours" Becase so many people do it. We were in the middle of the pack last year and didn't even start until 2 hours after the "start" time. We also had to walk our bike for over a mile as it was still too crowded. We said that if we were to do it again we would just pick up the tour around Central Park South. (I don't think it's a problem)

Also do NOT go over the verizano bridge. You can't ride back over it and have to once again wait for hours with massess of people for the ferry. Just end your ride before that part.

Most of all, just have fun with it. Hit pubs along the way, laugh with friends and don't take it too seriously. Good luck!

Did anyone actually do the 5 Boro Bike Tour? I had tickets for Sunday, but woke up at 6AM and saw that it was drizzling and the forecast did not look good at all. I was really bummed out, was looking forward to riding. If you did go how was it? Did you complete the whole tour?

i finished it...i've been doing it for the last 8 or so years... the rain was really challenging and weighed me down a lot, since i was wearing sweat pants...

    i loved it!

Tour de Brooklyn? When is that? Details please.

I also bagged the ride on Sunday. Riding in the rain is a completely miserable experience for me. Did it last Fall for the MS Bike Tour and I am still cranky about it.

June 7th. Looks line online registration is full, but you (and 499 other people) can show up the morning of the ride.

I rode in the rain too!

I had fun - though the weather was MISERABLE! I'd like to do it again in better weather as the route took us through what in non-rainy and foggy weather would probably be quite pretty scenery.

I think we should gather a Brooklynian team for next year and check out all the bars en route!

    Yay!

I'll try and remember in time for next year to see if we can gather Brooklynians for the task.
