Utica Ave Trains - 4:30ish / Cops, Helicopters, EMS on EP

For the past half hour cops & EMS have been racing bak & forth on E.P. (around Washington) & there are helicopters too--what is going on?

I was on my way home from work and after the PACKED B46 ride to Eastern Parkway and Utica Avenue, I saw that the train station was closed down. The police wouldn't say that happened nor could they tell us if the next train stations down the line were still operating.

i walked with the hundred or so other people down Eastern Parkway until we hit Kingston (which luckily had trains running). When I took the 3 to Franklin Avenue I was hit with a wave of people looking for the B45 to get to the other end of Crown Heights. There must have been 50 people waiting at the corner of Franklin Avenue and St. Johns.

Anyone know what happened?

BROOKLYN (WABC) -- A police-involved shooting inside the Utica train station in Brookyn is causing subway delays.

According to police, officers approached a suspect in the Utica Avenue subway station for unknown reasons.

The suspect then stabbed the officer in the shoulder with a screwdriver, police said. That is when shots were fired and the suspect was hit in the leg.

The officer and the suspect were transported to Kings County Hospital. There is no immediate word on their conditions.

From what I understand, there was a shooting in the train station. Two individuals were injured!

Oh you silly cops. Aren't you trained to disarm a feller with a screwdriver WITHOUT shooting civilians?

Police are trained to use Deadly Physical Force when it is being used against a civilian or a Police Officer. Let me plunge a screwdriver in your chest and see what you do.
