What's going on? Anyone else hearing this?

South Slope, here. I hear it, but have no clue why there's fireworks. Sakura? May Day? My dad's birthday?

I love when there are fireworks over the Statue of Liberty because it is direct sight-line if you live on ninth street. Lot's of people were standing outside and watching it on my block, not because they knew there would be fireworks but the sound, if you were inside was disturbing enough to comeoutside to check out.
