FIOS vs. Time Warner vs. ?

I'm currently a Time Warner customer about to move.

So I'm looking into switching. Here's what I do:

--I don't watch much TV as it happens. I like watching sports, but I'm mostly a football guy, so I can deal with going to a bar for sports once a week and am considering dropping TV services.

--I DO use the internet heavily. I work on the internet and watch streaming shows, Netflix, hulu, etc., via the internet.

--I don't need phone service.

Can any Verizon customers how their service has been? Any other options?

so i have cablevision. i decided to change to verizon because they would cost less and fios is suppose to be better then cable. i called verizon and they hooked up my place. the tv did not look good at all and some channels did not come through. a tech came once, twice, three times and they could not figure out what was wrong. so i went back to cable vision.

cable vision came over to hook up their service again and the tech looked at my cable line and said "hey, verizon put a staple through your cable line". that's why verizon tv was not that good!!!

to get me to come back cablevision lowered the monthly by $35 and added super speed internet, HBO, and a dvr. so far so good.

Uh, and update: apparently FiOS isn't available where I'm moving anyway. Bummer. So it's just down to whether one service is any better than the other. I haven't had... major... problems with TimeWarner.

Do not go to Verizon. You'll be so-o-o sorry. They have 5 pages of tax fees. Every month they add a new fee. You cannot set up an automatic bill payment because every month the bill is more money.

I thought the two bastards monopolized & cut up the city so you couldn't have a choice?

rumor has it that DOCSIS 3.0 will be rolled out by years end
