Looking for a good dry cleaner
anonymous
I tried the dry cleaner on Vanderbilt btwn Bergen and Dean but wasn't too thrilled. I got a flyer about Joe's Upscale pick-up service but I don't know if I'm ready to send my stuff to an online dry cleaner especially if there's one in the neighborhood that's good. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

pensodysseyHappy Cleaners at Prospect Place and Vandy always done right by me. -
11238Caree on the corner of Sterling and Vanderbilt is great. They are quick and courteous AND they just got a new computer system so now its REALLY quick.
I actually just brought in some stuff. Here are the prices:
$1.75 per men's shirt
$8.95 per men's suit
$5.00 womans blouse
$5.50 womans pants
I have been going there since I lived in PH (5 years). I think the prices are pretty competitive w/the others in the area. If anyone disagrees, let me know! -
xdgThanks very much! Happy is closer, so I've given that a try and we'll see how it goes.

anonymousCaree dry cleaners is the way to go. Happy kind of screwed up a hem job they did on a pair of my jeans, so they're on my shit list. Caree does great alterations and dry-cleaning. It's on Park and Vanderbilt, not Sterling. -
anonymoussame here - Happy burned a hole in the jacket of my best suit. -

I'd been going to Caree for a long time. Then I switched to Claudine's just down the block on Vanderbilt for awhile because they deliver to my building pretty promptly, but I got tired of getting a lecture and the proverbial "evil eye" whenever there was a little (okay, sometimes a lot) of cat hair on my clothes. Despite that, Claudine is quite nice, if a little gruff, I certainly wouldn't NOT recommend her.
But, I'm now back to Caree. They are so efficient (and non-judgmental) and they do really great tailoring as well.
And yes, their new, and much needed, computer system makes it even better.
