guitar strings nr. Prospect/Crown Heights butNOT Guitar Ctr?

Anyone know of any guitar strings possibilities excluding the dreaded Guitar Center? I'd be willing to go to Park Slope as well. But anything near Crown or Prospect Heights?

I know that GC staff can be completely godawful, but I go there to get strings all the time and it's painless enough. In fact, the last few times I went, I've been surprised at how nice the guys at the counter were. It's surreal.

That said, I actually don't know of any. It would be good to know, though. I'd like to be able to walk to buy them - GC is just a bit too far.
