Dog Run

The Missus and I were discussing the need for a dog run in the PH/CH area. How does one go about creating a formal petition? Is anyone interested in such a dog run?

I'd definitely be interested. My dogs could use some interaction and more playful excercise. And since one of them can't be let off his leash or he'll run to the hills a fenced in run would be great.

Since we are looking to adopt a puppy soon I think a local dog run would be fantastic! Is this something you can bring up at the Community Council meetings? Maybe Quig can answer that for us.

There's been some discussion every so often of putting in a run in Mt. Prospect Park, along the SE side (closest to the BBG entrance), up from the ramp.

As it stands many people, myself included, use the 'little park' for off-leash all the time; I'd be happy to trade that unofficial, almost all-day access for legal, clean, and 24x7.

Anyone have Tish James' number handy?

don't forget, it is an unwritten Parks Dept rule....if your park has a dog run, that will become the ONLY place you will be allowed to have your dog off-leash. No more romping on the grass, even at 8 AM...i'd rather keep it as is...

We did a preliminary scope of Mt. Prospect a few months back, and the reality is that there is no great place to put a dog run - the BBG doesn't want 24/7 barking just on the other side of its fence, and neither does the BPL.
