UEFA Championship
sloper
It's on Wednesday the 27th at 2;30p. I'm thinking of leaving work early to catch this at a bar (even though won't be that great of a game with Barcelona a man down). But regardless, you guys know of any bars in the neighborhood that will def be doing something for this?

torisoawYou could try Black Sheep pub. I think they show matches.
Also, the new Black Horse Pub (Black Sheep, Black Horse, Red Horse Cafe, who can keep up?) is going to be showing football/soccer I think, but I'm not sure if they're open yet (16th St/5th ave). -
dbbIt'll be on ESPN (or more likely ESPN2), so any bar that shows any kind of sports should have access to it. -
danielle123I think 250 Fifth Avenue might be showing it. -
sloperyeah, i figured most bars could turn it on....basically just wondering if you guys knew if any bar was having a specific, like, event (if you will) for this - always more fun to watch when everyone else at the bar is into the game and is cheering/booing. Since it's early afternoon on a weekday and since it's soccer and not march madness or whatever, didn't want to stumble into just any bar and hope there was a good crowd there..... -
woodytoby's public house on 6th ave near 20th street carries a lot of soccer......and their pizza is tasty -
dbbApologies if this is too obvious, but Nevada Smith at 3rd Ave and 11th St in Manhattan is the guaranteed place for an enthusiastic (Man U - supporting) crowd. Yes, it's geographically off-topic, but worth the trip. Just get there early. -
joehillbarbes showed all the Euro 08 games (at least the ones on the weekend) last summer on a big screen in the back room and it was great. I don't know if they'd being doing anything for this or not.
Another option would be Floyd on Atlantic Ave but they have a sign saying they are an 'official Tottenham supporters bar', eww.
black sheep pub sounds like your best bet if the new place in south slope isn't open. -

sloper never said who he/she is rooting for (if any). I find Nevada Smiths to be terrible. -
curleygregmaybe 4th ave pub? in other neighborhoods (wburg) Iona is a great place to catch premiership games... i might head there myself for this one. -
