License Plate screws

So I just moved my car for alternate sides and when I got out, I hear this crash. My rear plate fell off. There are NO SCREWS in it. So some jackass stole my license plate screws? Seriously, is this something that's done? I could see if one or two were missing, due to age or whatever...but all four of them are gone! Now I have to go buy screws to put the stupid plate back on. Should I put a note where the plate goes (I put the plate in my back window) so I don't get a ticket til I can get the screws tomorrow?

LOL, thats great. I work for Mercedes Benz manhattan, i drive on a dealer plate and change cars nearly everyday. I really doubt someone would go to the trouble of stealing screws without taking the plate. They will work them selves out over time, vibration and temp changes. That being said, id be happy to mail you some screws n a new plate frame, free of charge, community relations for MBM

Beave, my plate was knocked off once and I put it in the windshield and got a ticket while parked. the next day i took it for an inspection and had them write on the receipt that they remounted my plate. I mailed that in with the ticket and got it dismissed.

in the meantime, you can put it back on with some twist ties or string. they can definitely nail you for having the plate off when parked

if you are worried about a ticket just write a note in the front of the car by the vin number(drivers side of windshield) they always look there to check the vin, just write PLATE KNOCKED OFF and put the plate next to the note. If you are really worried take a cell phone pic of that just incase you have to fight the ticket.

Isn't this shit what men are supposed to deal with? Fucking hell. I still think they were stolen. I refuse to believe that four screws fell out. Either way, someone must pay.
