Movers - Out of State

I'm moving to beantown and can't do it by myself. I may be moving with a U-haul and a friend, but that's all up in the air now. Does anyone have any suggestions for out of state movers? What price range? I'm also looking online, but I can't distinguish who's legit or not.

Get this - my upstairs neighbors just moved and asked me what they should tip the moving guys. The movers actually told them they get 15% of the total cost to move as a tip. So in essence, they wanted about $250 bucks. Is that normal? I've never heard of such a thing!!!

PS - BB isn't allowed to move.

Screw that, tip them 20 each and call it a day.

Ps... BB will be kidnapped and kept with me. She's not allowed to leave my apt with out a tracking bracelet.

    That's what I said. I've never heard of tipping 15% on 2,500.00!!

Hm. I think it is appropriate to tip 15% depending on the job they did. Did they ruin anything? Lose anything? Did they have to climb a bunch of stairs? Or was the large cost due to across state driving?

I don't care about them and their tips. I just need a mover to ship me up to Boston! I'm not moving for a couple months. So you have plenty of time to enjoy the pleasure of my company!LOL.

It was a move out of state. I'd never tip that much unless I got some sex out of it.

BB - where are you going to be living in Boston? I'm from MA and lived in Boston ages ago. It can be a fun town (but it can get small, quickly).

I heard $6-10 per person per hour.
