Whew. I, too, thought this was going to be a "closing" post. I love this quote from the article:

"Even though times are tough, Cavanah said her high-end thrill machines — like the rechargeable Gigi vibrator ($109), with its seven customizable settings — are selling better than one-speed, battery-powered models.

“People want something a little elegant,” she said. “It’s like a nice pair of shoes. You put them on and you say, ‘This makes me feel good.’ With a fancy vibrator, they say, ‘This is how I feel about my sexuality.’”"

It probably has something to do with the recession and cheap thrills.

Babeland fail in Park Slope?!? C'mon! All those strollers have to start from somewhere....

Good for them. That Bergen retail stretch is really taking off in a nice way.

Exactly! how do you think all those babies at the bars come to be? Glad to hear Babeland is doing well, still got to get over there one of these days.

The good news is that after spending $109 on a vibrator, you won't want or need to leave the house for a while :)

I love that store. Went in a few weekends ago on a lark. Was walking by with baby in tow and figured I'd drop in to take a look while the kidlet napped in his carrier. Clerks were super friendly and this mom went home with a fun little purchase that didn't break the bank and makes the economy temporarily more palatable. I'm glad Babeland is doing well.
