Anyone see hit run Monday eve on Bedford near Sterling

A young boy, about 7 or 8, was hit by a car while playing in the street on Bedford Av. near Sterling Pl. around 7pm on Monday. The car then sped off toward Eastern Pkwy.

There happened to be an NYPD van just down the street, so they were on the scene in seconds. It looked like someone got the license plate of the hit-and-run driver and handed it to the cops.

The little boy was lying in the street, crying and moaning, but he didn't seem too severely injured. They took him away in an ambulance.

Anyone have any news about the boy or whether they caught the driver?
