Is this allowed?? Double tickets for street cleaning???

I arrived a few minutes late for moving my car this morning and the policeman was just ticketing me. My bad--I took the ticket and walked off sheepishly. I didn't move my car--why bother at that point, right? But I came back out later in the day and had a second ticket! I know they can double ticket you for being at an expired meter, but can they double ticket you for reverse parking rules? Crap!

i think if the first ticket wasn't still on the car, whoever came by the second time might have thought they were giving you a first citation (?). i don't think they can ticket you twice in the same day.

Be thankful they didn't tow you.

send copies in of both tickets and they'll likely only charge you for one

it depends how far apart they were given. if more than 30 mins apart I would say they probably will not dismiss either. but if you plead not guilty they will almost always automatically reduce the fine.

they should just hire people who are under employed the sweep and clean the streets not push dirty around and give folks tickets.

The court should be compelled, well, actually required, to dismiss one. Receiving 2 tickets for the same offense during the same restricted parking period would be considered double jeopardy.
