Help nurture newly planted street trees on Nostrand ave.

Any helpful people want to get together and help nurture the newly planted street trees on Nostrand? the First year is the hardest and street trees on main streets really have it rough. Someone has already broken one tree between bergen & Dean.
I figure we need to talk to store owners and try to get them to help water or give access to water so we dont have to haul buckets very far. ( I've got wagons.) Any body got any ideas?

you might approach a local community garden to help you -- i know ours is working with merchants and with another garden to help with the new vandy trees.

CHNA is having a garden party on the 27th of the month at the community garden on St Marks?? Dean?? right off of Nostrand. You may want to stop by there as the event will have folks who are interested in 1) preserving the community and 2) gardening and green enthusiasts. Seems like a great place to drum up some support for this.

If I can hunt up the actual details of the event I'll post them here.

It's on Bergen actually between nostrand and new york. great garden, i'm sure people there would like to help your cause and they have harvested rainwater for watering plants!
