my friend got run over by an suv in parkslope and is now staying with us for a few weeks in prospect heights. she has a badly broken ankle that she can't put weight on for a few months. we are thinking a wheelchair might help us get her out and about - any wheelchairs local? any creative ideas as to not spend a fortune? can you rent them somewhere? thanks.

Subject: I have a wheel chair want it?

I seriously have a wheel chair just hanging around in my apt.....it's pretty sweet, not beat up nasty or anything. Long story. Send me a private message and i'll give you my number if you still need it and it's yours. I'd be happy to help!

the other thing that is amazing when you are on crutches (which I'll assume she'll be, at some point) is these crutch bags

(no affiliation - just think they're amazing)

add to the list of things you didn't know until...

    fast healing wishes!

ooooh...those bags are cool. I've been on crutches almost 9 weeks now (broken ankle). I'd order them, but I hope to only have a few more weeks to go.

I am also using this a bit to get around the house. I have the one on the left.

the good thing about it is that it helps you put weight on the upper part of your leg so the whole thing doesn't atrophy. Plus, you can put things in the basket and that helps to get things around the house. It's a little dangerous if you aren't paying attention...takes a little getting used to

OMG. I did a search on Amazon for crutch bags (to see if there were cheaper ones) and found these. I want the Princess ones (of course)
