indestructible dog bed?

my little 10-lb havanese destroys every bed i get him, sometimes within days or even hours. he's even somehow figured out how to unzip zippers to get to the foam beneath. but he also loves snuggly places. i've read about a couple of supposedly indestructible dog beds but wonder if anyone can offer other suggestions and/or comment on the ones i've found online. a bed by orvis keeps coming up, one by a place called "K9 ballistics," and one from "SK enterprises". any thoughts?

Perla Beds. Hard plastic, comes in different sizes and colors, has vents on the bottom for drainage and cats and dogs love them. Add your own cushion or blanket. I prefer a blanket because it tends hold up better than a cushion and it's easier to wash. Just google Perla dog bed for places to order. Can't recommend them enough.

I would say if he keeps destroying them he doesn't get to have one. Thats what I did with mine- his bed privileges were revoked until he stopped peeing on it or trying to shred it. He got a towel in his crate instead. He's nice to it now but every time he starts being an asshole with it I take it away for a few hours and when he's sitting nicely I periodically give him a treat. He seems to be making the connection.

Truth. Dragging it around, shaking it, barking at it, HUMPING IT, etc. NO MAS, BRUNO. Its amazing how fast they learn, though...

I swear by Kuranda beds. I have one for the cats and one for the dog.
Dog tries to push the cats off, but they won't budge. I have the plastic legs with the canvas top. Indestructible, easy to wash, comfy for the animals.
I just vacuum it, and pop it into the shower when necessary.

So the Kurundas are comfortable? They look really spartan - much more so than the fluffy little pillows that Kilby ripped apart like a rubgy play trapped in the Andes.

They certainly don't look comfortable, but the animals love them. Not just my animals, but those of friends too. All different sizes and temperaments. You can buy a fleece cover for it, but that is just something else to wash IMO. If you do decide to get one, take some cute pictures and send them in for the "Dog of the Month" contest. I now have 2 beds, one for the dog and one for the cats.

These beds are commonly used in shelters and I don't think I ever saw one torn up during my shelter time. And the dogs do love them.

If the ballistics beds are the same material as the toys, it's not soft. It's a pretty stiff material. I've known bigger dogs who are not huge chewers to tear up those toys pretty easily, so that may not bode well for such a bed with your pup.

If you want a fluffy bed, maybe some training that the bed is not a toy would help? No 'touching' with his mouth
