Time Warner dealing in cash?

so, we're moving and having the cable switched over. as with the usual moving shakedowns, Time Warner insists we need a service guy to set it up... with the cost of $50-$60 dollars. it sucks, but whatever, i'm used to that.

but in the past, i remember them tacking on any service charge to the next bill. now, though, they're saying we're supposed to pay the service guy in cash when (if) he comes.

anyone else familiar with this? for TWC to be dealing in cash sounds odd and rather shady, and i'm wondering if this is some bullshit shakedown.

This sounds very shady and like a shake down. I suggest telephone calls to Department of Consumer Affairs, NYS Public Service Commission, and Time Warner's General Counsel (They're in Stamford, 203 328-0600)
