Best Bar Food?

Which PS bars have the best bar food? I'm not a big drinker, so I need to be eating well if everyone else is there to drink. We recently went to Bar Reis, which I would say so far has the best bar food ever with the sandwiches, but they are a bit expensive as it took 8 of them to fill us up (and we weren't even full). I love how unique the sandwiches are, it's not nachos or nuts or burgers, bleh. So, anywhere else? Also if your answers could be below 1st St, that's best, because I live down at 13th! :D

    I like Sidecar's veggie tacos a lot.

I think their food is good. I've brought a few friends there, including some who are really into food, and everyone seemed happy with their meals.

Also, if you sit at the bar at 12th street bar & grill, you can eat from the menu at the grill next door. Good food, decent prices - great hangar steak, burgers, sandwiches, etc.

Sidecar's food is all delicious. I've tried several soups there that never sounded like a good idea (but I like soup so I try them) and so far they have all been really great. I'm also a fan of their cocktails.

If a bar doesn't serve food, they often have a folder of local delivery options. I've done this at Commonwealth a few times. You could also just pick up something and take it there.

    I'm not a big drinker/bar person so that's all I've got.

Korzo, formerly known as Eurotrip. Awesome food. I guess it's kind of more of a restaurant, but still. It's great.

Agreed. and their tostada is solid.

Sidecar is ok but their service has been spotty the 3 times that I've been there this year. Anyone else feel a little neglected by their staff?

We've been many times and actually found the service to be much better than most places (part of why we go back). This is always at a table and rarely a Friday/Saturday night, though. Maybe you've been at the bar or a weekend night and they just don't handle the crowd as well?

It's probably top 3 of my bf's favorite places and he's out at some of the "best" places in Manhattan pretty often. He's off climbing today so I get to eat Joe's pizza for all of my meals today!

i may have to disagree and go with bonnie's on 5th ave (at least locally, not sure about the whole city)

Dram bar's table service is atrocious. It's a freaking mad house in there and the waitresses can care less to serve/seat you. It was so bad I'm never going back again.

My rec: Melt, good food, good happy hour, great burger, free appetizers right now too.

    Sidecar, without a doubt!

Well, the best bar food seems to be hotly debated in the slope these days. I just had an awful experience at Sidecar, but always find Johnny Mack's to be consistent for burgers, wings, etc. I wouldn't get fish or pasta there. 12th street bar is real good, maybe better, but it is small, and the service is slower.

You can always go to Commonwealth or Buttermilk and order in food, that is fun.

bonnies grill is the best burger in the the City.

I feel like every other time i go to dram shop i am invisible.

    Bonnie's makes a damn good burger too...but it's not a bar.

Bonnie's is very good, I forgot all about it. I guess when I have gone it is so darn crowded that I haven't wanted to wait.

But Bonnie's isn't really a bar, right? They asked about bar food. What about 200 Fifth? Haven't been in quite a while, but they were always decent bites.

I'm partial to Dram Shop for their awesome burger, best in the the neighborhood IMO and definitely better than Bonnie's.

Alchemy is more of a pub, same with Sheep Station, but both have solid food. Either a BLT, Burger or Fish and Chips, Mussels, Lamb Sandwich all with good beer selections.

Union Hall's food is also pretty good, albeit overpriced for what it is. Although I really enjoy the mini corndogs with grainy mustard.
