Yeah, no Ingmar Bergman, but an astonishing number of very entertaining movies in a period of 5 or 6 years. Ferris Bueller's Day Off....

Agreed. Starting with Vacation (Screenplay - 1983).

I have seen Planes, Trains & Automobiles a zillion times and it never fails to make me laugh. Steve Martin is so good at bubbling anger (like John Cleese) and John Candy is great at playing a lovable schlub.

waaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! i honestly have no idea what my life would have been like if this man had never existed.

I'm so saddened. His movies perfectly captured teenage angst, MY teenage angst. They continue to capture my adult angst. So glad that he enriched my life.
