I've got family coming to visit the slope in a couple of weeks--anyone know if Totonno's has reopened? I'd like to take a field trip.

latest I was told (on August 3rd) was “sometime in August” -- nothing more specific, unfortunately

If they're still closed and you want to bring your family on a field trip, you can always go to DiFara's (ugly, very few tables but worth the wait).

You can always go to Lukali's which has nice atmosphere and tables but you'll still have a wait. There's a pretty new pizza place around the corner from Grimaldi's. I haven't been yet but I hearing it's better than Grimaldi's.

I've heard good things about Luna Rossa.

I grew up in the DiFaro neighborhood and I thought this is what all pizza tasted like because I ate pizza in my own hood. I know there is now a mistique about this Ave. J holy grail of pizza but if you have never done this pilgramage to Midwood... do it while it is still doable.
Totonno"s is it's own thing but you need to have a pie there and DiFaro's to even have an opinion of what pizza is.

I've driven by a couple of times the last 2 weeks and still see no life down there but I really hoping it is soon!
