Weekday lunch and micro-brewed beers

If I want this, where do I go? This seems to be a niche that hasn't been filled around here. Soda has decent beers but their food is eh. Cornelius isn't open for lunch. Plan B's food was not good the few times I went there and their beers are all corporate. Beast isn't open for lunch. My best shot is probably down to 5th avenue and Alchemy.

Good opportunity for somebody to open an establishment unless I'm missing a good place that someone can tell me about.

    Good call, Chekhovian!

Carneviento also has a limited beer selection.

Tavern on Dean isn't open for lunch.

I guess the Farm is. I went there the first week they opened, was great. Subsequent visits have been eh. Their beer selection is decent and open for lunch so I'll give them another go.

    Carneviento has what, Corona?

I'm not sure what beer they have- I usually get fruit drinks there, but they do have beer and sangria. ToD definitely is open for lunch on weekends at least. Isn't Franny's open for lunch now?

Also, Cheryl's is definitely open for lunch, but I haven't been there in a while and I'm not sure whether they serve alcohol.

Le Gamin is also open for lunch. They definitely have wine, but I'm not sure about beer.

Ah, yes! Cheryl's is a great place for lunch! The backyard is great- the food is fab and if you're dying for different beer than what she has, you just hop next door to Sepia's. Bonus- Cheryl's the bomb.

I don't want to BYOB or go next door. I want the hypothetical place to handle it all.

Sepia wouldn't be open at lunchtime on weekdays though.

That's a tall order for the neighborhood as it currently stands. Maybe someone will recognize the need and fill it. Until then, the BYOB approach sounds best.

Agreed. It's a tough niche. There are some options at least. I'll try The Farm for lunch and see what I get. I know they pull Six Points. And Alchemy within a decent walk -- they're good.

Alchemy is your best bet, and if you get a burger they give you a half pint at no cost. You could also go to Bark Dogs, they have a number of microbrews, including a $3 cup of the special Sixpoint housebrew.

Yeah, I'd second Alchemy. I've never had a bad meal there, and the beer selection is always good.

I guess Press 182 would qualify. Bit more of a walk into the Slope.

I went to Ortine on Washington between Dean & Pacific for the first time this week. Open for lunch, with an EXCELLENT menu of snacks, sandwiches, sides and homemade drinks (even kombucha!). They have Six Point on tap, $3 during happy hour. And tasty cage-free wings for $5 (8-count) during happy hour as well. I look forward to going back.
