Looked like it was being deconstructed this afternoon. That would be a bummer. Anyone know if it's done?

Why is it a bummer? That place was terrible. No identity.

Coffee, Bergen Bagels, Ice Cream, Smoothies. I enjoy these things and want them as close to me as possible.

Blue marble on Underhill thrives on this same formula.

I like a big scoop of cold butter the same as the next guy, but Blue Marble don't have the Bergen Bagels and is not on my block. Hence, bummer.

I keep saying I'm going to go there and yet I never do. I walk by it every day, too.

Is this the place that closed at 5PM? Not sure why it lasted as long as it did.

i got ice cream at night there last summer and i saw them open after dinner a few weeks ago, so they didn't always close at 5, if ever.

Blue Marble does serve Bergen Bagels, although the selection is sometimes limited and they're overpriced.

Wait, did the Brooklyn Parlor on Vandy really close? I loved going there to get bagels and coffee. The guy that worked there always made the best hot sauces. I was bummed when they had to take out their cooktop.

So it seems. It's been shuttered all week and I saw guys taking stuff out. It's possible a remodeling is in the works, or it could just be closed.

The landlord of this building better wake up and smell the cat food . I didn't like this place as much as many but the combo of Red lipstick, bike shop and coffee was a good one. As these small places struggle their rents are still going up as if there is so much foot traffic on this block, not so. The bike shop brings people for repairs and the rest is just good for everybody. Whoever takes over these spaces better get a long term lease or the guy will do a short term money suck right out of your cash register.Google maps teaches you lots about area biz,30 % of the shops are new from it's filming.

I also noticed this place papered over this weekend. Too bad - I never had a chance to try that burger they had a drawing of on the sign.

On the plus side, the "Milk Bar" opened right up the street, and looks like it's a nice place for coffee and pastries.

Where are/were these places? I know that Blue Marble is on Underhill, but I haven't/didn't notice Brooklyn Parlor Cafe or the Milk Bar.

    Westside of Vanderbilt.

Brooklyn Parlor Cafe was near Zaytoons.

Milk Bar is near the super market

did they *really* serve bergen bagels there? you could have fooled me. the one time i tried a bagel there, it was so stale as to be inedible. ice cream looked old and the coffee was bitter and weak. i don't wish anyone misfortune, but it just seemed like this place couldn't get its vibe right. blue marble and milk bar both get their vibes right, IMHO.
