Do you feel safer?

There's a NYPD mobile command unit parked on the corner of Franklin and Bergen. I don't know how often these get put out in residential neighborhoods, but I've only seen them near wall street when they're running drills or a VIP lands at the downtown helipad.

My thinking is that it'll be there through the weekend.

you've only seen them near Wall Street? there's been one on St. Johns for the past few weeks. they've done that several times over the past few years.

while this isn't a longterm solution, yea, i would feel safer walking by there now. my guess is there won't be any more shootings near that block while the command station is there.

i was about to post what mr met said. glad to hear they're putting a presence further north where it's needed.

Anyhow, I'm glad to see any increased presence but still somewhat disheartened that we need it in the first place.

There's been so many shootings on or near Franklin lately that I can't see how it could hurt.

At least they are responding in some way.
